Common questions about our Engage One course.

Do I need any previous implant experience?

No previous implant restorative experience is required. Engage One has been designed specifically for GDPs who are new to restoring implants, starting with the fundamentals before progressing through the complete single implant crown workflow.

Do I need to place implants?

No. Engage One focuses on the restorative phase of implant treatment, not implant surgery. You can continue to refer implant placement to an appropriately experienced clinician while developing the skills to restore suitable cases yourself.

Can I refer the surgical phase and restore the implant myself?

Yes, where the case is appropriate and within your competence. This collaborative approach allows you to remain involved in your patient's treatment while working alongside an implant surgeon for the surgical phase. Appropriate case selection, communication and referral are key parts of the course.

Which implant system will we use?

Hands-on exercises use the Straumann BLC implant system, giving you practical experience with contemporary restorative components and workflows. The underlying principles are taught so they can be applied more broadly to other implant systems you may encounter in practice.

Do I need an intraoral scanner?

No. Engage One covers both digital and conventional implant impression workflows, so the course is relevant whether your practice already uses an intraoral scanner or relies on traditional impression techniques.

Is Engage One suitable for associate dentists?

Absolutely. The course is particularly relevant to associates who already identify or refer implant patients and would like to develop a new restorative skill, provide greater continuity of care and potentially create an additional private revenue stream within their existing practice.

How much CPD will I receive?

Engage One provides 7 hours of verifiable CPD. Delegates who complete the course will receive a CPD certificate confirming their participation and the relevant learning outcomes.

How many dentists attend each course?

Each Engage One course is limited to a maximum of 12 delegates. Keeping the group deliberately small allows more hands-on time, more interaction and plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout the day.

What happens when I have my first implant case after the course?

Support does not end when the course finishes. Engage is designed to help delegates transition from training into clinical practice, including support around appropriate case selection, restorative workflows and communication with the surgeon and laboratory.

Can I stay at Hope Street Hotel?

Yes. Engage One is held at Hope Street Hotel in central Liverpool, and delegates travelling from further afield can book accommodation directly with the hotel. Liverpool Lime Street station is also within easy reach.

What is included in the £595 course fee?

Your place includes the full one-day Engage One course, all hands-on practical sessions and training materials, refreshments, lunch at Hope Street Hotel, 7 hours of verifiable CPD and access to ongoing Engage delegate support.

Will I be ready to restore implants after one day?

The aim is to give you a structured foundation for restoring appropriately selected, straightforward single implant cases. As with any clinical skill, confidence develops with experience, which is why case selection, recognising your limitations and accessing support are central to Engage One.
